In many cases, there is only one logical place for your television/entertainment center. If that’s the case, you can quickly move on to other decisions.

There might only be 2 or 3 logical places to put your sofa. So, you start there and then build on that by envisioning how other pieces can be placed to complement the sofa. In a large living room, you have more options for placement so you will just have to spend some more time experimenting with your layout until you get just what you want. In a very large living room you will likely set up 2 or more seating areas.

Again, one of those room planning apps can be very helpful at this stage. Another important element of modern living rooms is the absence of clutter. Open space is good space. Open space is luxurious and that’s why so many people love an open concept. It feels luxurious. 4 | Choose a Color Palette

Also using a mix of different frames can give it a stylish eclectic look.

Before you start making holes in your wall you seriously need to plan it out. Lay all your frames on the floor and come up with an arrangement that you love, after that hang them accordingly. A good rule of thumb is to always put the largest photo in the center of your arrangements surrounded by the smaller ones measuring an equal distance between frames. Starting in the middle is always best.

Make sure there is balance to your arrangement. This can be achieved by maybe a theme you have in mind, color consistency, or maybe even identical frames. Measure distance between the centers when you have the laid out on the floor and use the measurements to place pencil marks on your wall.

If you have been reading our blog, you have probably noticed that our tastes lean toward clean and simple modern styles. What can we say, we’re just attracted to good design that is simple and good quality. The appeal never fades. 

Our modern tastes apply not only to decor but especially furniture. Many of the classic furniture designs in the modern era come from Scandinavia and Denmark in particular.

Designers like Arne Jacobsen who gave us the famous egg chair as well as many other classic designs. The world-renowned Hans Wegner who designed over 500 chairs in his lifetime is a legend in mid-century Danish design. 

What we really love about the designs is that they stand the test of time and always look great in a room. This post focuses on sofas but future post will include chairs, tables and much more.
